Hi, I’m Miemke, the founder of Praat Sosiaal. With a degree in Marketing and extensive experience in social media management, I’ve been helping businesses craft their online presence since 2018. My journey began in the picturesque landscapes of Robertson, where I was surrounded by innovation and entrepreneurship in the wine industry. This foundation, combined with my passion for marketing, led me to establish Praat Sosiaal in August 2022.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients, developing customized strategies that increase engagement and visibility. For me, social media is not just about creating content—it’s about building authentic, lasting relationships with your audience.

Wine Country Ties:

I grew up on Van Loveren, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Robertson. With wine coursing through my veins, it’s no surprise that I married into the wine industry and continue to thrive in this captivating realm. I now call the beautiful Slanghoek Valley home, being part of my husband’s family farm, Breëland Winery. This connection to a family-owned legacy has only deepened my passion for the wine industry.

Educational Journey:

My academic journey led me to pursue a marketing degree at Stellenbosch, where I honed my skills and delved into the intricacies of consumer behavior and branding. But my thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there—I also explored the world of somatology at ISA Carstens before diving headfirst into the marketing arena.

Professional Beginnings:

My foray into social media marketing wasn’t happenstance; it was a carefully orchestrated opportunity presented by my father. In 2018, I embarked on a journey with J.C. Badenhorst, managing the social media presence of his esteemed liquor business, Nature’s Own Beverages. It was here that I discovered my passion for social media management and the power it holds in modern marketing strategies.

Praat Sosiaal:

A Labor of Love: In August 2022, I took the leap and founded Praat Sosiaal, my very own social media management company. With two years under my belt in September 2024, I’ve navigated the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing, learning and growing alongside incredible clients and collaborators.

As a dedicated entrepreneur, wife and mother, I’ve mastered the art of juggling responsibilities. With the support of my household helpers, I seamlessly blend motherhood with my professional endeavors, ensuring that both receive the attention they deserve.

Hello! I’m Jonine, and I officially joined Praat Sosiaal as a Co-owner in October 2024, two years after Miemke started the company. Like her, I hold a marketing degree, and I’m incredibly excited to help take this agency to new heights. Having grown up in Villiersdorp on a wine farm, I share a similar background with hard work and commitment ingrained in me from a young age.

I believe that authenticity and creativity are key to success in social media management. I’m passionate about creating content that resonates with people, and I thrive in helping brands build meaningful relationships with their audiences. Working with Praat Sosiaal allows me to combine creativity and strategy to achieve real impact for businesses.

Nature Lover:

Growing up on a wine farm near Villiersdorp, I’ve always been surrounded by the beauty of nature. I developed a deep connection with nature, which still fuels my passion for creativity today. I feel at peace in open spaces and love finding inspiration in nature’s colors and patterns.

Educational Background:

After studying Event Management at Aleit Academy, I realized that my passion extended beyond just planning events. I wanted to understand how businesses can build deeper connections with their audiences, which led me to pursue a BCom degree in Marketing and Management Science. This combination of skills has allowed me to build a career focused on not just focusing on advertising but building relationships and fostering brand loyalty.

As a co-owner of Praat Sosiaal, I am dedicated to building brands through social media, focusing on driving engagement and creating personalized connections. I am excited to use my creative knowledge to help build our business.

Family-Orientated:

Family has always been incredibly important to me, and I’ve always valued the time spent with loved ones. I’m very family-orientated and will never miss out on family gatherings or just spending quality time with those close to me, family is at the heart of everything I do. I recently got married, and it’s been such an exciting new chapter in my life!

Early Bird:

I’m an early riser and nothing starts my day quite like a walk on the farm and a strong coffee, setting the tone for a productive and energized day. There is something about the quiet of the morning and the feeling of starting fresh each day that energizes me.

Creative spirit:

I am passionate about creating beautiful things with my hands, whether that’s in my professional work or personal life. I have a special love for flowers, interior design, and making things aesthetically beautiful, from spaces to business concepts. I find joy in bringing beauty and creativity into everything I do.

I firmly believe in the power of positivity and the impact a simple smile can have on your day – and the people around you. My positive attitude has been a key part of my personal and professional success, helping me connect with people and face challenges with confidence.
